A few events........

Haven't posted for a while, been a bit busy but here's an update......

Went for a stroll along a stormy seafront today and got this shot in front of Southsea Castle..........

Last Sunday was the family portrait day at the Eastney Community Centre at Bransbury Park and baby Cooper with the family dog Brian was a cute shot.........

Friday the 1st was the second Ghost Race - lousy weather but a great turnout........................

Tadley 10 miler 20th October......

Interesting journey from Portsmouth to Tadley early yesterday morning - torrential rain and lightning on the way with several interesting flooded stretches of road followed by warm sun then more torrential rain for the trip back ! Nearly 150 runners braved the conditions on what is a very scenic course.......

Phew, almost 10,000 images uploaded to Ian Burnett Photography since Sunday's event. Brilliant weather and fantastic organisation and course - congratulations to Tanya Almond of Portsmouth City Council for organising this event and the Try a Tri earlier in June. Here's a few highlights.......

Holiday......

Lynne and I went to the lovely town of Moraira on the Costa Blanca for a few days. Weather was a bit iffy to start (to put it mildly !) but once the storms moved through it was the usual wall-to-wall blue skies.......here are some of our photos

Waterlooville - promoted ! (....and Champions the following week)

Went to watch my son's team, Waterlooville win promotion to the Southern league Bronze division - a pretty high standard of cricket. An incredible sequence of 14 straight wins out of 14 - although chased all the way by Ellingham who won 13 out of 14 !

A little behind because of my holiday !

Rubbish weather for Natasha and Shane's day but we got a break from the incessant rain for half an hour to get the groups and personals - here's a storyboard....

Been a bit busy recently and the blog postings have dried up a bit which is a bit tardy ! Here's an update:

August 11th Portsmouth RNLI open day adventure tri

Another of Rob PiggottsBelieve & achieve events. Quite fancied doing it myself although having never kayacked before was a bit of a drawback !

 

August 10th: Jenny & Richard

This couple are both heavily into outdoor sports so photos on Hayling beach was a must....

August 3rd: Pauline & Kevin

Services wedding here as the army captain (Pauline) married the naval lieutenant (Kevin). Ceremony was at the beautiful St Nicholas's on Thorney Island followed by a reception at the officers Mess, HMS Nelson, Portsmouth....

July 27th: Nicola & Ashley

Sods law dictates that a spell of great weather will always end on a weekend - as this did ! Our plans to leave the Portsmouth Hilton for photos in Southsea were thwarted by the downpour but we managed to get some great shots around the hotel....

July 20th: Marie & Ben

The Brighton Pavilion was the ceremony location followed by an evening disco at the Royal Albion hotel. Congratulations to Marie and Ben and best wishes for the forthcoming happy event...

July 19th: Claire & Kevin

Second shooter for this one with Alison Gaudion. A scorching hot day took its toll but here's a shot I'm a bit pleased with.....

Kate & Rob 13th July......

And another hot day...........ceremony was at Portchester Castle (where 3 weeks ago it was cold, wet and very windy ! bit different....) followed by the Marines Musuem. We had a short stroll on the beach and managed to find a few square feet of space amongst the sun bathers..........

Kim & Lewis 12th July.....

St Jame's, Emsworth followed by Old Thorns, Liphook were the venues for Kim and Lewis on another very hot day....

Amy & Tom 6th July....

Hot day ! The ceremony was at All Saints, Catherington followed by a Reception at Newtown House hotel, Hayling......

...and the previous (also hot !) day, it was Kathie and Alex's wedding at St John the Baptist, Kirdford followed by Bartholomew Barns Kirdford.....

Bay House semi formal prom 4th July.........

Explosion ! in Gosport was the venue for Bay House's year 11 prom. Beautiful evening and a really good venue (thanks Kerry for your help). The photos are now live at Ian Burnett Photography.....

Kate & Mike's wedding 22nd June....

A recurring theme this year - unseasonal weather for a wedding ! Although it was mainly dry, the wind was just too much for people to be confortably out and about  - and Portchester Castle is quite exposed when the wind is gusting to a force 7. We managed to do the groups and a few personals and then off to the Langstone Hotel, Hayling for the Reception. As usual a great service from the hotel and everyone had a great time - including posing with a few dodgy props from the DJ in the evening !

Waterlooville v Midhurst, County Div 1 15th June....

Photographed part of the County div one match at Rowlands Avenue  today - the gale force wind made holding a 300mm f2.8 lens a little difficult to put it mildly. Waterlooville scored a massive 346-6 thanks to a brilliant 152 not out from Waterlooville's overseas player - South African Byron Haycock and with notable contributions down the order especially Alex Lamont's half century. Then Jon Hudson produced a hat trick - which left the Midhurst innings in some disarray at 10-4.....

We originally planned to do the pre wedding shoot last week but postponed it because it was cold, wet and windy - and arranged it for tonight - and the weather was perfect ! We went to Portchester Castle and had a stroll around - here's a few.....
