Portsmouth Coastal Marathon 23rd December 2012.....

Chilly day (but dry - apart from the beach that is !) and a stiff south westerly breeze marked the third Portsmouth Coastal marathon. Over 900 runners braved the challenging course. I was hoping that I may have been able to post the images online on Christmas Eve but with over 10,000 images taken by the team I have to be realistic with last minute Xmas duties to perform as well so I will do my utmost to get the images online by the 27th December at the latest.

Portsmouth RNLI Santa Runs 16th December 2012.....

Fantastic weather for today's Santa Run organised again by Rob Piggott (Believe & Achieve) in aid of the RNLI. Nearly 2000 runners (plus several dogs...) all in Santa suits made a great sight. The images will be online to buy late Monday afternoon on Ian Burnett Photography

The Willis family.....

Did the second photoshoot of the Willis family today - all three kids were brilliant and really played up to the camera........

Epson R3000 printer......

In October I entered a competition in Photo Pro magazine to win one of these top notch printers worth £670 having just seen one in action at the Photovision Roadshow at the Ageas Bowl. And how many comps have I entered in the past and not won - loads !!


Except this time I got a call yesterday telling me that I'd won !

It arrived today in a VERY large box. It's big. Everything about it is BIG. The first problem was to find a home for it as I already have a laser and inkjet. Fortunately its wireless so my options were increased somewhat. Anyway, it's set up and initial prints look good although I need to get some photo quality paper now and sort out ICC profiles. But - it takes NINE ink cartridges at £24 each. Have to look at the Lyson range I think.......but this is how it looks in my somewhat untidy study....

(PS - only Photoshop work was to clone out sensor dust spots. The D3 was set to Vivid to boost the colours a tad but otherwise it is "as was")

...and today I was at the Brighton 10k...

One of Anthony Bliss's team for the Brighton 10k this morning - 2700 ish runners, lovely day, fast and flat course - should have been some PBs today.

Ghost Run 2nd November 2012......

Tonight was the first Ghost Run in Portsmouth, organised by Rob Piggott of Believe & Achieve - starting in Alexandra Park and then with various creepy surprises along the 5 mile route. Some pretty impressive costumes were seen tonight - photography was a bit of a challenge but take a look at 2012 Ghost Run on Monday and try and find yourself.....

Reach charity event 27th Oct 2012....

Busy day yesterday - photographed the Junior Great South Runs/5k (freezing cold too !) then set up a studio background and lights for the Reach charity event at the Marriott Hotel - click on Reach for their website and donations. For a change I set up a black backdrop which, with the hair light, looked good. I also had the opportunity to be photographed with an Olympian - Claire Cashmore who won a silver in the London paraolympics this year. Lovely evening was had by all...

Rememberance Day 2012.....

The Royal British Legion's annual poppy appeal has been launched today, with the aim of raising £42m to help service personnel and their families in need - buy your poppy tomorrow !

Clare & Mark 20th October.....

Went to Arundel yesterday for Clare and Mark's wedding. The venue was the historic grade 2 listed Townhall with its magnificent ceremony room. Time was marching on after the ceremony but we managed to get the group shots in the bag before it got too dark and started to rain !

Fantastic weather for yesterdays 10k starting at the Hayling Island ferry and routed along the seafront. If you'd like to purchase prints/downloads go to Ian Burnett Photography and don't forget that 15% of proceeds will go to the RNLI.....

Emma & Mike 22nd September 2012.......

The last of the Summer wine.....or weather anyway !! Lovely day for Emma and Mike before Hurricane Nadine's little relative swept in. The ceremony was at St Marys Church in Fratton Road, Portsmouth followed by a Reception at the Royal Beach Hotel on Southsea seafront. We stopped at the Rock gardens on the way and  then had a short (and chilly and windy !) walk along the seafront...........

HMS York 20th September 2012.......

It was the last time HMS York entered Portsmouth Harbour this afternoon. The Type 42 destroyer is being decommissioned next week so I had to get a few images of this historic moment.....

Busy weekend.........off to St Marys at Felpham to help Alison Gaudion with Ruth and Gavin's wedding. They are both surfing, windsurfing types so the pictures reflect their love of the sea..

Chloe & Andrew 14th September 2012......

The beautiful setting of Loseley House nr Guildford was the setting for Chloe and Andrews day. The weather was great too......

Victory 5/10k 16th Sep 2012....

Good conditions today for the Portsmouth Athletics Club annual 5 mile/10k Fun Run. About 700 entrants I understand and hopefully loads getting PBs.....

Janet and Karen 27thJuly 2012.....

I photographed Janet and Karen's Civil Partnership in July which was a wonderful day. The ceremony was at the Guildford Registry office which we moved onto the impressive surroundings of the Merrist Wood golf club for the Olympic themed Reception.....

Marja & Charlie pre wedding shoot 9th September.......

I met Marja, Charlie and their little daughter Sophia in Winchester yesterday for their pre wedding shoot. We strolled around the parks, outside the cathedral and along the riverbank for an hour or so - here's a few from the shoot.....

With autumn's colours approaching why not book a location photo shoot - for a session of about one hour and a DVD is £90 (this is going up in October I'm afraid)

The weather held at all the right times for Amy and Kevin's wedding. Ceremony was at St Faiths, Lee-On-The-Solent followed by a Reception at The Solent Hotel, Whiteley.......

Abigail & Fergus wedding preshoot 23rd August...........

Another really enjoyable pre wedding shoot. Fergus is in the Royal Navy so Old Portsmouth has a lot of meaning for them -  and a shot on the Round Tower was a must.....
