Kat & Steve's pre wedding shoot 25th January 2013....

Winchester last Friday was bitterly cold but we still managed to cover a fair distance which gave variety to the shots - 12 different locations in 45 minutes before hypothermia set in ! Kat and Steve were brilliant models and hopefully enjoyed the shoot - here's a few from the session.....

Stubbington Green 10k 20th January 2013........

Probably the coldest day I've ever photographed a race. In fact it was so cold I had battery issues - a 3/4 charged Nikon D3 battery went down within 30 mins ! Fortunately I had a few gel hand warmers to keep the spares warm and didn't have any more problems but these warmers only lasted about 10 minutes - no wonder they were so cheap ! It was understandably a slightly reduced field but congrats to all who did attend on such a cold day.....

Solent Dawn kickboxing 16th Jan.......

Earlier this week I went to the Meadowside Leisure centre,Whiteley to photograph a kickboxing class run by Dawn Hughes of the Solent Dawn Kickboxing Academy. It's quite difficult to strike a balance regarding the exposure - it's very easy to use full flash but it gives a flat, "overflashed" but you need to use some because of the lowish light levels so I tried a variety of methods - here's a few from the session:

Sue & Peter wedding preshoot 5th January 2013.....

After a wash out last week it was great to get out and about at Old Portsmouth for Sue and Peter's wedding preshoot. The extensive renovation work on the Round Tower meant some locations were unavailable but we had a stroll around the Camber, Bath Square and the Hotwalls and a variety of shots were in the bag. Here's a storyboard.....
